Grade 2 is an integrated language course aimed at developing the language competence of pupils at grade 2 (ages 7-8). Essentially, the course reflects in its content, approaches and methods a whole language perspective, focusing on pupils’ personal, social, cognitive, academic and linguistic needs. The language skills of speaking, listening, reading, writing, thinking and viewing are developed through a variety of creative and stimulating activities, relevant to the content areas at the primary level.
